Justships Ltd. was established by Stephen Purvis a former barrister with extensive experience with 2 of the leading P&I Clubs – Gard and the North of England. We are a specialist marine and reinsurance broking firm with particular emphasis on liability insurance for ships, whether for ship-owners, charterers or shipmanagement companies. Stephen H. Purvis – (Managing Director) established Justships Ltd in 2011 after an extensive career with 2 of the leading P&I Clubs – Gard, Norway and The North of England P&I Association Ltd, Newcastle upon Tyne. A Barrister by training Stephen Purvis set up the FD&D department at the North of England in 1989 and developed it into one of the largest and most respected FD&D insurers worldwide.
Timothy J. Nichol – (Non Executive Director) was appointed on 30th April 2012. Timothy qualified with Coopers and Lybrand as a qualified accountant in London and after 22 years in the senior management of the Newcastle Business School was appointed as Dean of the Liverpool Business School in August 2015. During his career he has engaged in a variety of research, teaching and consulting activities, including a period of secondment to the National Bank of Ukraine as a Know How Fund advisor. His particular areas of interest are financial reporting and governance, with emphasis on the Board and the private company sector.
Jamie Robertson-McIsaac – (Non Executive Director) was appointed on 26th June 2014. Jamie established Robertson McIsaac Ltd. (as Brokers to Business Ltd.) in 1998. They are corporate insurance brokers and risk management consultants specialising in placing corporate insurance cover for businesses where premiums are substantial and risks are diverse. Jeremy Miles (Non Executive Director) was appointed on 3rd December 2014. Jeremy qualified as a South African Attorney and is now Commercial Director of Grindrod Shipping Pty Ltd., Durban who operate a substantial fleet of dry bulk carriers, and product and chemical tankers. Prior to joining Grindrod in 2006 he spent 10 years with the North of England P&I Association Ltd, Newcastle upon Tyne as well as several years in private practice.
